With the dominance of large agribusinesses in North America, it's now more important than ever before to know where our food comes from. More and more people are realizing again the value of becoming connected again with local food sources - the positive impact on our local economy, family farms, and the invaluable environmental benefits. Joining a CSA program is the perfect way to learn about the vital connections between food, health, local communities and the environment.
Community Supported Agriculture - or CSA - is an alternative way of purchasing healthy produce and supporting your local farmers. CSA members pay for a share of the harvest at the beginning of the growing season, and then pick up their very own box of delicious, organic, and local produce once a week. Paying for a share of a farm's harvest in advance helps farmers plan and budget for the year while minimizing the risks that are normally involved in farming. In exchange, CSA members receive a weekly supply of fresh and nutritious produce and the satisfaction of knowing where their food comes from!
Sign up for a share of healthy, certified organic produce that you can pick up weekly at our farmers market locations. As part of our CSA Box Program it's a great opportunity to support your local farmer by purchasing produce for a whole season. We know that you care about where your food comes from, seasonal eating, and sustainability. Becoming a member of Klippers' CSA box program is a great way to get involved!
