Apprenticeships
We're always looking for passionate, sustainable-minded, and hardworking individuals to lend a helping hand on our farm and restaurant. Apprenticing at Klippers Organics and/or Row Fourteen is a great way to learn about how organic farming works on a day-to-day basis - low input farming practices, seed propagation, extending growing seasons, harvesting, farm management, selling to local markets, and much more. Get hands-on experience working in the beautiful Similkameen Valley at our certified organic farm.
Our apprenticeship program runs yearly, beginning in the spring (March to May) and ending in the winter (November to February). We take on one or two interns per year, who stay for a minimum of seven months at the farm.
What you'll gain:
- Months of hands-on experience on a farm.
- A network and community of like-minded people.
- Experience with a variety of tasks - everything from sowing, planting, and harvesting organics to working at a market, helping to run a CSA program, and understanding how the farm works as a whole.
- An opportunity to work in an established and certified organic farm in the South Okanagan, right around the corner from great hiking, biking, fishing, and canoeing.
What we're looking for:
- Previous experience on a farm is optional, but an asset.
- A desire and willingness to learn more about farming, organics, and sustainability.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to commit to staying on the farm for at least three months.
- Someone who enjoys a challenge and hard work.
- Flexibility and willingness to contribute in a variety of ways.
- A passion for organic farming, local food, community, and all things sustainable.
